We are looking for a Teaching Animal Keeper to join our Animal Sciences and Conservation Department at our York campus. The role involves delivering high‑quality animal care alongside practical education and training for students across animal management and related land‑based courses.

Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day husbandry, feeding, maintenance, and record‑keeping for the animal collection.
- Perform general cleaning and uphold the welfare of all animal species.
- Teach practical lessons and assess students in animal management and related subjects.
- Collaborate with the Animal Sciences and Conservation Manager, Deputy Manager, and Teaching Zoo Lead Keeper, and work as part of the Zoo team with a focus on mammals and birds.
Qualifications
- Education to at least a Level 3 in an animal‑related subject (a degree is advantageous).
- Demonstrated passion for animal husbandry and welfare, and ability to work collaboratively.
