British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for a Category Analyst in Chiswick, London. The Category Analyst, working closely with the customer-facing team (Category Manager and Key Account Manager) and internal stakeholders, will turn shoppers, market and category insights into compelling growth opportunities. The role holder is expected to use data, trends and commercial thinking to support the business to influence decision-making, shape winning category strategies and deliver standout performance for BAT and our Customers.
This is a commercially focused Category Growth role, centred on insight, influence and customer relationship. The role holder is expected to combine analysis with actions, supporting the category manager and working autonomously partnering with teams across the business uncovering opportunities and making a real impact on category growth and customer success.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting range reviews, helping protect core business and drive new product development (NPD) opportunities.
- Helping the customer-facing team in building strong relationships with buyers and external partners to support category decision-making.
- Bringing the voice of the retailer into internal strategy discussions.
- Creating clear, concise reports and presentations using retailers’ tools (e.g. Nielsen, HIVE).
- Complying and implementing activities in accordance with the rules of laws and regulations relating to environmental protection, safety at work and fire protection, and internal EHS or Sustainability standards and procedures.
What are we looking for?
Experience in: category analyst / executive roles, working in fast-paced companies, working with nicotine and Impulse FMCG categories. Strong analytical skills and high confidence working with data (Excel is essential). Ability to turn insight into clear compelling storytelling. Quantitative and qualitative analysis. Strong communications skills with the ability to influence partners.
