This role focuses on gathering and analysing data, assisting in research projects, and contributing to insight activation across marketing and innovation teams. Success requires curiosity, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.This role helps embed consumer-centric thinking into strategies by providing timely and accurate insights. It strengthens decision-making and supports innovation by ensuring the voice of the consumer is represented in key projects.Consumer and Market UnderstandingAnalyse consumer behaviour, attitudes, and market & performance trends.Monitor competitive activity and cultural shifts.Understand drivers industry and BAT performance and link consumer with commercial insightsResearch ManagementManage qualitative and quantitative research projects.Work with external agencies to ensure quality and timely delivery.Embed modern research methodologies and AI into practice and drive its usage with key stakeholders Insight Activation & Strategic insights narrativePrepare reports and presentations that translate data into actionable insights.Support storytelling efforts to engage stakeholders.Drive a consistent strategic insights narrative to inform category SMP process Trend MonitoringIdentify emerging trends and share implications with the business.Link cross category macro and nicotine trends to combustibles in the evolving consumer contextCollaboration and Capability BuildingPartner with cross-functional teams to embed insights into strategies.Continuously develop knowledge of research tools and methodologies.Collaborate effectively with DRBUs on research initiatives and performance insightsWork closely with other insights function to bring single consumer view to lifeWhat are we looking for?ESSENTIALThis role requires an individual with the following attributes and behaviors: Strong experience in market research in blue-chip consumer goods company or a global market research agency or consultancy - ideally with managerial experience.Proven experience of international marketing (including digital) & marketing research.Proven experience in leveraging trends and outlooks to generate compelling future opportunitiesTechnical / Functional Skills RequiredDeeply curious about understanding Consumer behaviour & attitudes and how it relates to Innovation product developmentCommercial & International marketing acumen (including digital), proven experience in innovation / up-stream strategy.Broad understanding of the influence of macro and micro economic, business, environmental and consumer trends (tobacco and ex-category) and their relationships.Possesses an expert knowledge of marketing and marketing research techniques, their application and limitations.Highly proficient in analytics. Familiar with generic statistical tools and their application.Demonstrated track record of delivering multi-country marketing research & insights projects that have influenced business or shaped strategy beyond merely market research project management.Leadership Skills RequiredProactive mindset, self-driven and motivated.Comfortable in a matrix organisation, works collaboratively and not fazed by ambiguity.Structured & organised way of thinking.Very strong interpersonal & communication skills, ability to modulate tone and message depending on agenda, stakeholder priorities, and desired outcome. Problem-solver mindset, constructive.
