An UHNW international family is seeking a brilliant native English-speaking live-out Governess for two girls, aged 4 and 9. The term-time schedule is 3.30pm-8pm, Monday through Friday, while candidates can expect a more full-time schedule during school breaks. The role is based in Chelsea, and regular international travel will be required during school holidays. This position can be offered on a temporary or permanent basis and is available for an ASAP start.
Responsibilities
- Providing structured academic support across all core subjects, with a strong emphasis on Maths
- Supporting school and nursery learning objectives and helping reinforce classroom topics
- Planning and delivering creative, educational, and age-appropriate activities
- Organising stimulating after-school schedules balancing learning and play
- Assisting with homework, reading, and academic development
- Encouraging curiosity, confidence, and positive learning habits
- Supporting wider childcare duties as needed
- Assisting with the evening routine and bedtime preparation
- Travelling with the family internationally during school holidays
- Liaising with parents regarding academic progress and development
Requirements
- Native English speaker or native-level fluency
- Strong academic background, particularly confident teaching Maths at primary level
- Experience working with UHNW families preferred
- Previous Governess or educational childcare experience
- Creative, energetic, and engaging approach to learning
- Warm, fun, and professional manner with children
- Organised and proactive with activity planning
- Flexible and travel-ready
- Discreet and accustomed to private household environments, as well as working as part of a household team
- Comfortable in either a sole charge or shared care capacity, able to read the room effectively and quick to grasp household dynamics
