A family visiting London (staying near Hyde Park/Kensington) are seeking an experienced temporary nanny to support them for a short-term booking. The nanny will care for two children: a 5-month-old infant and a 4-year-old. The family will typically be at home, with the possibility of one evening out for dinner (a taxi is provided if it runs late), and daytime outings such as trips to the park. Working dates are 30 July – 2 August 2026, approximately 9am–9pm (12 hours) daily. Live-out role. Household staff will be present throughout the trip, though the nanny may be trusted to work sole charge once rapport is established.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of both children at all times
- Feeding the infant (bottles/solids) and preparing meals and snacks for the 4-year-old
- Nappy changing and assisting with toileting and handwashing
- Managing naps and following the children's daily routines
- Organising age-appropriate play, activities and outings
- Comforting and soothing the infant as needed
- Encouraging positive behaviour, following the parents' guidance
- Light tidying of bottles, dishes, toys and play areas
Qualifications
- Warm, nurturing and highly experienced with infants
- Calm, patient manner — comfortable with an energetic but generally easygoing 4-year-old
- Firm but fair: confident setting gentle boundaries without raising her voice
- Flexible and adaptable to a shifted daily schedule (family will be adjusting for jet lag)
- Comfortable providing sole-charge care once trust is established
Requirements
- Available for the full assignment, 30 July – 2 August
- Significant, hands-on infant care experience
- First aid/CPR certification preferred
- Legally able to work in the UK
- Excellent, verifiable references
- Comfortable getting around on foot/by tube — driving is not required
