Friendly and involved first-time parents seek a wonderful night nurse to join them at the end of August. The schedule will likely be 7pm-7am, Monday through Saturday for the first 4-6 weeks and may drop down after that, depending on how things go. Ideally, the night nurse will be available for a full 12 weeks.
Responsibilities
- Prioritising the safety and well-being of the baby at all times, providing attentive and nurturing overnight care.
- Providing guidance and tools to enable the parents to keep to a daily schedule, and building their confidence in all the day-to-day aspects of baby's care and well-being.
- Supporting Mum with formula feeding, and taking on the overnight feeds.
- Maintaining a calm and supportive environment, ensuring Mum is well-rested, hydrated and healing well after the birth.
- Baby's laundry, bottle sterilising (if required), and cleaning of toys and other baby items.
- When appropriate, gently encouraging healthy sleep and feed schedules.
Requirements
- Punctual and reliable.
- Reasonably flexible around the schedule.
- Extremely good communicators.
- Warm, friendly and passionate about their role.
- Able to work with involved parents.
- Open, supportive, warm and caring.
- Available from end August.
- Locally based, as this is a live-out role.
- Dog friendly - there is a non-allergenic, friendly dog in the home!
