A busy and involved British/American family seeks a fantastic, pro-active and educated live-out career nanny/governess to care for 2 children. The family is academically focused, so this role is very much about supporting and enhancing the children's learning and development, both within the school environment and while at home. The older son has passed his 7+ test while the younger daughter (almost 4) will be taking it in the future. The schedule could be Tuesday through Friday, 7.45am-5.45pm and then Saturday morning, 8.30am-1.30pm, but could also be Monday through Friday, 7.45am-5.45pm, with flexibility over some weekend/evening hours appreciated. Please also be open to travel for up to 4 weeks of the year.
Responsibilities
- School drop offs and pick ups
- Overseeing some playdates and activities
- Working alongside other staff to ensure children's areas and items are clean, tidy and organised
- Staying on top of schedules, making sure the right items are packed in the right bags, and that things are prepared for the day ahead
- Day-to-day care for the younger child, who is currently at nursery 2.5 days per week, ensuring play-based learning, and fun, educational projects and activities
- Engaging in age-appropriate activities with both children and supporting their general social, emotional and physical development
- Helping prepare the younger daughter for upcoming 7+ test
- Supporting the older boy with his continued academic development, ensuring homework is completed and finding ways to engage his mind and extend his learning
- Tutoring both children when appropriate
- Continuing to foster both children's curiosity and enjoyment in the world around them

- Naturally curious and fun-loving, with a knack for sparking the children's curiosity and encouraging them to thrive and excel
- Passionate about learning and should be enthusiastic, thoughtful and creative in how they instil this in children
- Open to following the children's interests and to building on their enthusiasm
- Happy to research ideas and subjects, and to introduce novel and creative approaches to extending interest and learning
- Super organised, adaptable and curious
- Available to travel with the family
