The role of Simulator Engineering Duty Team Leader is based at London Heathrow maintenance base Technical Block A (TBA). The job holder will manage a team of operational engineers who maintain and support the simulator fleet with day to day coverage on a 24/7 shift basis, in compliance with EASA and CAA regulatory requirements.

Job purpose:

  • Manage a team to ensure a safe working environment compliant with Health & Safety legislation where the team deliver, maintain and support flight training devices.
  • Responsible for monitoring defects, identifying obsolescence and ensuring the required fidelity of Flight Training as regulated by CS-FSTD(A).
  • Manage the implementation of corrective actions and modifications to BA’s fleet of full flight/fixed base simulators.
  • Lead technical fault investigation and correction.
  • Deliver serviceable simulators with over 99.5% availability to the BAFT customer base with improving training hours per fault and timely defect clearance in accordance with the BAFT Quality System.
  • Good communication and team-working skills with the ability to train and mentor colleagues.
  • Understanding of the regulatory authority approval process for flight simulators.
  • Experience in managing a team in a regulatory, safety critical environment.
  • A thorough understanding of all simulator systems and how they interact is essential.

This is a shift role that covers both day and night working (4 on 4 off pattern).
