This is a pivotal role at the heart of how British Airways brings its Safety & Security Management System to life. As Management System Training & Promotion Manager, you’ll shape how our colleagues learn, engage with, and champion the principles that keep BA safe and secure every day. You’ll lead the end‑to‑end design, delivery, assurance and continuous improvement of the Management System’s training and engagement portfolio. Working closely with partners across the business — including the Global Learning Academy (GLA), Corporate Affairs, and operational teams — you’ll ensure our training not only meets regulatory requirements, but genuinely resonates with our people. Beyond compliance, this role is about culture. You’ll play a key part in embedding the BA Safe & Secure cultural principles, creating engaging, accessible and impactful learning and communication that enables colleagues to understand their role in safety and security, and to feel confident living those behaviours in everything they do.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Collaboration – Partners with the Global Learning Academy (GLA), the Corporate Affairs directorate, and operational line areas to deliver training and communications initiatives that meet the Management System’s regulatory obligations, strategic objectives, and embed the BA Safe & Secure cultural principles.
  • Training – With oversight and support from the GLA, leads the end‑to‑end lifecycle of Safety & Security training courses as defined within the Management System’s Competence Development Pathway portfolio, including the design and delivery of in-person and computer-based training courses for Management System, Lead Auditor, Lead Investigator, Risk Manager/Assessor, Issue Triage, and Human Factors.
  • Standards Assurance & Continuous Improvement – Delivers a training assurance and CI framework that ensures course content remains engaging, impactful, relevant and compliant with company policies and legal requirements. Maintains course currency/recency, implements version control, ensures audit‑ready records, and robust evaluation to drive demonstrable value-add knowledge and skills benefits.
  • Communications & Promotion – With the direction, approval, oversight and support from the Corporate Affairs directorate, plans and delivers Safety & Security comms, briefs, notices, and promotional campaigns to exchange time-critical information throughout all areas of the organisation; enhancing colleague engagement and participation in the Management System. Owns the Safe & Secure intranet and shared‑resource knowledge base.
  • Experiences – Leads the delivery of initiative experiences to inspire colleagues and embed the British Airways Safe & Secure culture.
  • Supplier Management – Partnering with the GLA, leads the end‑to‑end procurement and vendor management for outsourced training and engagement activities, defining requirements, evaluating suppliers, assuring content standards, and compliance.

What You’ll Bring To British Airways

  • Excellent influencing and communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications effectively to suit a wide range of audiences.
  • Effective decision making and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, under pressure and within ambiguous circumstances.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to consistently deliver solutions.
  • Identified as a credible expert in role.
  • Exceptional understanding of the principles and delivery of safety and security training and promotion, within the Commercial Air Transport environment.

Essential

  • Your experience: Proven experience delivering training, learning, comms, and colleague engagement within the Commercial Air Transport environment. Holds a qualification in instructional design, training/coaching, and/or an equivalent professional credential.

Desirable

  • Holds Risk Management, Human Factors, Audit, and/or Investigation credentials.
  • Experience of British Airways risk management principles and/or industry regulations, standards and best-practice.
  • Experience of leading the development of training and promotion initiatives within a complex regulatory environment.

Hybrid Working

We offer a hybrid approach to working, with colleagues spending three days at our Waterside (WTS) office and up to two days working remotely, supporting collaboration while maintaining flexibility as and when required by the business.
