This team sits at the heart of our airline, ensuring that aviation security risks across our worldwide network are identified, understood, and managed effectively. What you’ll do:

  • Support the Senior Aviation Security Manager - Assurance and Aviation Security Risk Team, contributing to the delivery of risk management across a portfolio of BA airport stations.
  • Mitigate down-route aviation security risks to the BA operation using a risk-focused approach, building capability, including providing guidance on travel security, hotel, and transport arrangements.
  • Identify and address aviation security performance issues and trends using data from audits, assurance, and compliance activities.
  • Develop and utilise aviation security dashboards to inform decision-making and highlight emerging risks.
  • Oversee the implementation of remedial actions to improve security performance across BA stations, working closely with WWA and BA line area teams.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide expert advice to drive compliance with the BA Aviation Security Programme (ASP).
  • Engage with regulatory authorities at higher-risk destinations to ensure compliance and promote a strong security culture.
  • Oversee internal security investigations and maintain awareness of regulatory requirements and audit findings.
  • Act as a role model for BA values and behaviours, contributing to a positive safety and security culture.
  • Provide support to the wider Aviation Operations Security (AOS) team as required.

Please note: Due to the nature of this role, there will be an expectation of some duty travel to our worldwide destinations. This role is a hybrid role with the minimum expectation to be present at our Waterside headquarters three days per working week.

Your experience:

  • Holds, or has the ability to obtain, UK Security Clearance, an AvSec Manager qualification, and DfT Threat Assessment certification.
  • Strong knowledge of aviation security regulation and operational practices.
  • Experience working within a complex operational or cross-functional environment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across diverse cultural settings.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams or leading through influence.
  • Practical understanding of operational processes relevant to aviation security.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and translating them into effective compliance delivery.
