At this time, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated candidate that will be joining the Operational Maintenance Planning management team. The successful candidate will lead a team of Planning Engineers, who are responsible for the production and delivery of a balanced, cost-effective Maintenance plans, whilst ensuring fleet compliance. This is a critical operational role, that plays an integral part in supporting Engineering approach to Every Second Counts. The individual will help to shape and continuously improve the Operational Maintenance planning processes to meet the business challenges. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and nurture a team of TMG colleagues to maximise their potential and delivery. What you’ll do:
- Accountable for maintenance planning, maintaining compliance, driving productivity and returning aircraft to service within agreed competitive performance targets, whilst delivering to the customer’s requirements.
- Responsible for co-ordinating ADD / Op Def clearance process across Engineering and monitoring to drive success.
- Creates a working environment and culture that encourages delivery through the empowerment and personal development of the team.
- Reports, presents and communicates operational and business performance to senior stakeholders, suggesting appropriate actions to be taken.
- Management of key suppliers to ensure they are accountable, deliver to the agreed plan and remain within the financial constraints.
- Co-ordinates across Engineering and has delivery responsibility for planned operational events to ensure Engineering maximises any downtime opportunity e.g. Christmas parking, increased aircraft stand-down etc.
- Provides a critical interface with Global Operations and Tactical Planning to both strategically and tactically align objectives and working processes to create a more achievable plan.
- Ensures colleague compliance with all appropriate company procedures and policies and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Supports delivery of the business and finance plan.
- There is an expectation that you will undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks.

Your experience:
- Broad knowledge of the British Airways operation (Essential).
- Working knowledge of EASA Part-M and Part-145 regulations (Essential).
- Detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning principles (Essential).
- Detailed knowledge of BA IT systems including SAP (Preferred).
- Working knowledge of Integrated Operations Control Centres and Tactical Planning process (Preferred).
