The role: Operations Manager Baggage and Logistics
Are you an aspiring Operational leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? A strategic problem solver who can drive both people and customer service excellence? Someone who enjoys motivating and leading a team. An exciting opportunity awaits you to become a key influencer within the Management team at Terminal 5. Your role is pivotal in leading Ground Operations team to deliver a safe, punctual, world-class operation.
What You’ll Do
Working an operational roster, aligned to your team, you will lead and handle the baggage and logistics operation 365 days of the year.
You will act as management representative during safety events and ensure accurate reporting and duty of care processes are followed at all times.
As a visible manager on the ramp, you will represent the Baggage and Logistics team, owning your zone, working alongside your team towards a Better Heathrow.
You will also work alongside our Heathrow safety and security team to role model and champion safety behaviours and challenging non-compliance working together with our other operational managers at Heathrow.
You will relish challenges, find motivation in empowering a large team of Ground operations agents, and be dedicated to unlocking their full potential to deliver outstanding customer satisfaction and operational performance. Working with operational systems and operational managers to lead on the day performance.
Your daily focus will be on ensuring the team achieves outstanding standards, adopting continuous improvement while maintaining an unwavering dedication to safety and managing the operation in times of disruption.

Your Experience
- Significant operational experience within an Airport environment
- Strong People Management, coaching and leadership experience.
- Understanding of trade unions
- Understanding of people policy and processes-Essential
- Understanding of airside operational processes-Essential
- Must be able to hold an Airside pass
- Full UK Manual driver’s licence, with no more than 3 points and the ability to obtain and hold an Airside Driving Permit
