The role:
Join our innovative IT Operations team at British Airways as a Network Engineer, where you\’ll play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the robust infrastructure that keeps our global airline connected. What you\’ll do:
- Design and implement resilient network solutions that support British Airways\’ business needs.
- Collaborate with project delivery teams to support network development across global sites.
- Configure and maintain network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Maintain security compliance by working closely with IT, Cyber Security, and service partners.
- Deliver network maintenance, upgrades, and documentation with accuracy and clarity.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to users and junior colleagues, contributing to a learning-focused culture.
- Analyse network usage, forecast future capacity, and optimise bandwidth efficiency.
- Engage in cross-team collaboration with developers, system administrators, and security professionals.
- Contribute to incident resolution and business continuity through international travel as required.

- Strong knowledge of protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF, and hardware such as Cisco and Juniper.
- Proficiency with SDWAN (e.g., Meraki), network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios), and ServiceNow.
- Experience with cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) and network security best practices.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with third-party suppliers.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIP or the equivalent.
