Maintenance Planner – British Airways (Heathrow)
Location: Heathrow Airport
Pay: £25–£29 per hour
Contract Type: 12 Month contract with renew potential
About the Role
British Airways is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our team at Heathrow. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient planning of aircraft maintenance activities, both line and base, with a strong focus on operational excellence and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Forecasting: Continuously review and optimise the maintenance forecast for cost and time efficiency.
- Resource Planning: Ensure all required spares and resources are identified and available ahead of scheduled maintenance.
- Work Package Creation: Use BA systems to generate detailed work packages and work orders for line and base maintenance inputs.
- MRO Coordination: Issue work packages to Part 145 Maintenance Repair Organisations (MROs) with clear instructions and specific requirements.
- Certification & Reporting: Verify that all paperwork from MROs is correctly certified and reported back in AMOS.
- Record Updates: Update aircraft computer records, logbooks, and associated tracking sheets using AMOS.
- Archiving: Prepare and send completed work packages for archiving and assist with archiving duties.
- Audit & Compliance: Perform record audits of subcontracted organisations in line with procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process and system improvements and foster collaborative team working.
- Flexibility: Undertake reasonable duties aligned with the role and adapt to changing priorities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in aircraft maintenance planning, preferably within a Part 145 environment.
- Proficiency in Planning Systems or similar maintenance management systems.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to compliance and safety standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to dynamic operational needs.
