As British Airways Cabin Crew, your primary duty is to ensure the absolute safety and security of everyone on board, adhering to the highest international standards and our rigorous Operations Manuals. Essential Criteria:

  • Be aged 18 or over and fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Possess at least 12 months of verifiable customer service experience.
  • Hold a valid UK passport with at least 12 months before expiry, granting the unrestricted right to live, work, and travel globally from the UK.
  • Ability to acquire a US Visa is required.
  • Pass a comprehensive Criminal Record Check for all countries of residence over the last five years and provide satisfactory references.
  • Be able to obtain and retain an airside pass.
  • Be fully flexible to work shifts 24/7, 365 days a year, including standby duties near Heathrow and periods away from home.
  • Adhere to our uniform policy: visible tattoos or body piercings are not permitted while in uniform; they must be completely coverable without the use of plasters or bandages.
  • Successfully complete our intensive training course to obtain a UK CAA Cabin Crew Attestation.
  • Hold or be eligible for Yellow Fever vaccination certification.
  • Pass a rigorous medical and physical assessment conducted by the BA Health Service.

Physical & Safety Operational Requirements:

  • Meet the height requirements: a maximum height of 2.01m with a vertical reach of at least 2.01m (typically requiring a minimum height of 1.575m).
  • Perform CPR: kneel within a 46cm space and deliver effective chest compressions.
  • Lift a 9kg weight from a height of 195cm and pull a fully laden trolley weighing up to 86kg.
  • Swim 50m, tread water for 3 minutes, and assist others in water.
  • Lift up to 28kg, fit into a jump seat harness, and confidently work at heights (e.g., descending a 9m escape slide).
  • Stand within a 51cm×51cm space and remove any headwear swiftly in an emergency.
