Earlier this year, we expanded our maintenance capability with the opening of British Airways Engineering Gatwick. We’re now looking to build on the strong foundation established by our talented team there and further develop the site to include Winter Airbus Heavy Maintenance operations within this impressive facility.
We are seeking a Maintenance Team Leader to lead and supervise 20+ Mechanics and Lead Mechanics in carrying out scheduled maintenance tasks, inspections and defect rectification.
What you’ll do:
- Team compliance with environmental, quality, health and safety and housekeeping standards
- Maintenance oversight of individual and team activities ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and company standards
- Collaborates with colleagues, Shift manager and support department to achieve the targets for the department
- Organise and agree team work schedule and allocate tasks to deliver areas to agreed targets
- People management of the team IAW policies e.g. disciplinary
- Individual coaching, performance management and development e.g. one to ones
- Works to improve schedules and aircraft downtimes
- Provide technical leadership of teams maintenance tasks.
- Sign off work on completion within the full scope of individual approval
- Effective communications within the organisation
- Deliver departmental productivity and cost targets by driving improvement to work tasks, processes and work environment.

Your Experience:
- UK CAA Pt66 B licence
- 3 years aircraft heavy maintenance experience
- Maintains Base Maintenance authorisations on all types required
- Experience in leading teams in an aircraft maintenance environment
