The Role: At British Airways, our Flight Operations Engineers are central to delivering safe, efficient, and compliant operations. We are seeking an experienced professional with Weight & Balance expertise to join our team at London Heathrow (LHR), supporting our world-class fleet and operation.
What You'll Do:
- Produce and maintain critical Load & Balance, Aircraft Performance, and FMS data, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and technical standards.
- Author and update sections of British Airways Operations Manuals, including Load & Balance, Performance, and Route Information.
- Manage and execute aircraft weighing activities in collaboration with Engineering, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical support to live operations, responding to safety reports and supporting investigations.
- Support the entry-into-service of new aircraft and evaluate modifications impacting operational data and performance.
- Conduct aerodrome assessments, terrain/driftdown analysis, and landing/takeoff performance reviews for new route introductions.
- Seek opportunities to optimise operational efficiency while maintaining the highest safety and regulatory standards.
- Represent British Airways at industry, regulatory, and technical groups.

- Substantial Weight & Balance experience in an airline or flight operations engineering environment.
- High IT literacy, with hands-on experience of Altea FM, Lido/Flight, and Boeing/Airbus performance tools.
- Strong knowledge of UK Air Ops regulations and aircraft systems.
- Engineering degree (or equivalent) is essential.
- Proven track record of innovation to improve process efficiency and data accuracy.
