This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

The role: LHR Maintenance Process Excellence Delivery Manager. Every flight that leaves Heathrow relies on the skill, planning, and dedication of our maintenance teams on the ground. At British Airways, we’re committed to improving how we manage and deliver aircraft maintenance making it more efficient, reliable, and better suited to the needs of our operation. As the LHR Maintenance Process Excellence Delivery Manager, you’ll lead important work to improve how we operate, helping to ensure our 250+ aircraft are supported by strong systems, processes, and people.

In this senior leadership role, you’ll lead the delivery of large-scale change and continuous improvement across all areas of aircraft maintenance (base, casualty, and operational). Working with over 2,000 colleagues, your role will be to turn plans into action, use data to support decisions, and help teams across the business work more effectively together.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the delivery of key projects that improve safety, efficiency, and quality across our maintenance programmes.
  • Use continuous improvement tools and methods to identify better ways of working and support their roll-out.
  • Work closely with our digital and data teams to build solutions that meet real operational needs.
  • Build strong working relationships across teams, providing clear updates, support, and guidance to senior leaders and partners.
  • Make sure all change activity is well-governed, meets our high standards, and is delivered with safety and compliance in mind.
  • Support a strong team culture that encourages collaboration, learning, and innovation.
  • Coach and guide teams through problem-solving, using digital tools and data to help them find the best solutions.

What You’ll Bring to British Airways:

  • A practical mindset and confidence working in complex, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong leadership and the ability to work well with a wide range of people and teams.
  • A focus on quality, safety, and delivering results.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to influence decisions and keep things moving forward.

Your Experience:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) (desirable).
  • Detailed knowledge of maintenance integrated processes and systems (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and regulatory compliance (essential).
  • Experience leading change in complex, high-risk, industrial unionised environments (desirable).
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methods and digital tools (essential).
  • A relevant technical or engineering degree (desirable).

What we offer:

We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play. It’s one of the reasons our rewards go far beyond a competitive salary. From the day you join us, you’ll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights.
