The role of Sustainability Delivery Manager involves:
- Leading the research and identification of opportunities to drive a step change in climate, environmental and social performance across directorates and subsidiaries.
- Accountable for the delivery of sustainability initiatives, supporting the process from inception to benefit realisation and supporting stakeholders to overcome challenges and blockers.
- Driving positive KPI metrics (including CO2, Reality Check, OHI) by embedding an awareness and understanding of BA Better World and promoting opportunities for improved performance.
- Analysing broad and complex data sets, drawing upon analytics, insights & experience to enable processes and strategies that consider sustainability objectives and policies across directorates.
- As a thought leader and constructive challenger, driving internal/external stakeholders including lobbying groups and industry representatives to implement identified opportunities and sustainable procedures.
- Developing and managing sustainability training and engagement programs across key workgroups to educate and empower colleagues in delivering our BA Better World strategy.
- Managing a network of Sustainability representatives and champions.
- Driving the integration of Sustainability as part of directorate levels strategies and plans.
- Leading & managing the contribution of Sustainability strategies and priorities to business planning cycles ensuring that Sustainability is represented and integrated into directorate business plans.
- Supporting the monitoring of environmental and social performance and adherence to procedures.
- Liaising closely with IAG Operating Companies to coordinate improvement opportunities.
- Reporting on the progress of initiatives including the development of business cases.
- Collaboration with stakeholders across a directorate to ensure sustainability is considered in the development of future policies and procedures.
- Management of a directorates Sustainability Transformation initiative portfolio reporting to senior leadership, up to MC level when required.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Strong ability to balance strategic thinking, creativity, planning, project and process management, operations and administrative execution with exceptional communications capabilities and judgment.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret large data sets.
- Ability to work at pace in an ambiguous environment, good with process, with a bias towards execution.
- Constructively challenges when required on best practice and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Internal/External stakeholder management and achieving consensus when dealing with conflict.
Your experience:
- Proven track record of establishing relationships to deliver step change in performance.
- Experience in managing engagement strategies for key workforce groups.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of Sustainability across airline operations & business.
- Experience leveraging change in an operational environment.
