Overview

In this role, you will lead and shape the delivery of occupational health services for British Airways, aligning clinical delivery with business needs and regulatory standards. You’ll partner with business leaders, regulators and clinical teams to drive governance, performance, and innovative working models. You’ll oversee policy development, service models and continuous improvement to deliver excellent outcomes for colleagues and the business. Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of occupational health services across British Airways
  • Provide leadership to Occupational Health Managers and related specialists
  • Oversee clinical governance, quality standards and regulatory compliance
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide specialist medical support to physicians, nurses and managers
  • Lead development of policies, service models and performance measures
  • Drive continuous improvement and transformation initiatives across occupational health services
  • Ensure services support business requirements and operational readiness

Key requirements

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practice in the UK (essential)
  • Qualifications in Occupational Medicine (MFOM minimum with Specialist Registration in Occupational Medicine) and Aviation Medicine (DAvMed or equivalent desirable)
  • Previous general practice or other general medical experience (essential)
  • Occupational health experience in a large and complex organisation (essential)
  • Experience of health issues associated with air travel (essential)
  • UK CAA accredited AME (essential)
  • Strong leadership and team development
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong organisational and project management capability
  • Occupational health service delivery and governance
  • Regulatory compliance and quality standards
