Overview
As Duty Engineer at British Airways, you will coordinate aircraft production and lead maintenance teams to meet targets while upholding safety and quality. You’ll be the go-to point for operations, liaising with Planning and Satellite teams and driving data-driven improvements. You’ll help ensure on-time delivery of high-integrity maintenance work within a high-performance culture. Responsibilities
- Deliver operation to defined production targets while adhering to the maintenance plan and aircraft compliance
- Provide effective leadership of maintenance colleagues and set clear expectations for the day
- Allocate tasks per the maintenance plan and manage on-duty resources
- Serve as first point of contact for operational colleagues; escalate to Satellite, Technical specialists, and Planning as needed
- Support incident and accident management procedures
- Champion high quality standards and coordinate continuous improvement to implement permanent solutions
- Communicate aircraft work status and coordinate requirements between Planning and Production
- Capture and analyse data to meet performance targets across operations
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders and manage customer relationships
- Support development of a high-performance team and culture aligned with company Hallmarks
Key requirements
- Aircraft maintenance experience
- A licence, or Engineering degree, or recognised aircraft apprenticeship with demonstrable maintenance experience
- Desirable authorisation on relevant Aircraft Types
- UK driving licence (desirable)
- Airport restricted zone access (essential)
- Airside driving licence (desirable)
- Part 145 maintenance knowledge at supervisory level (desirable)
- SAP transaction knowledge (strong IT literacy)
