Make safety your mission at British Airways. We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Auditor to join our Corporate Safety and Security team at London Heathrow. In this crucial role, you will lead and deliver audits that ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, helping us uphold the highest standards of safety and continuously improve across all areas of our operation.
What You’ll Do:
- Plan, conduct, and lead in-depth Health & Safety audits across our operations, ensuring compliance with UK regulations, company procedures, and recognised safety standards.
- Identify and investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective tracking of corrective and preventive actions.
- Support adherence to internal and external safety frameworks including UK H&S Regulations, the IAG Group Health & Safety Manual, and aviation safety programmes.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, senior leaders, and external regulators to drive safety performance.
- Act as Lead Auditor where required, overseeing schedules, reporting, and audit activities.
- Promote and support the development of a proactive safety culture across British Airways.
What You’ll Bring to British Airways:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential.
- Demonstrated auditing experience in a safety, compliance, or quality-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance principles.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage across all levels.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to navigate complex, regulated environments.
- A meticulous and methodical approach with a drive for continuous improvement.
Desirable:
- Qualified Lead Auditor (Quality / Compliance) certification.
- IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management.
- Experience in aviation, transport, or another safety-critical industry.
