This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.
The role: Global Learning Academy Trainer. As a Global Learning Academy Trainer at British Airways, you’ll play a key role in shaping the capability of our people and the future performance of our airline. Sitting at the heart of the People function, the Global Learning Academy supports safety, operational excellence and customer experience through impactful, engaging learning. In this role, you’ll bring learning to life, helping colleagues build confidence, develop skills and perform at their best — making a real difference every day, both on the ground and in the air. This is a uniformed, shift‑based role, including weekends and may involve some domestic and international travel.
What you’ll do:
- Be responsible for delivering a wide range of training programmes, ensuring sessions are engaging, inclusive and impactful, and that learning outcomes are consistently achieved.
- Be adaptive in your delivery style to suit different audiences and learning needs, creating a positive and supportive learning environment where colleagues feel confident to participate and develop.
- You’ll provide coaching, feedback and follow‑up support to learners, managing performance and attendance during training and addressing issues promptly in line with agreed processes.
- Prepare training materials and environments ahead of delivery, ensuring content is delivered as designed and in line with current programme objectives, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately record learning and assessment activity, maintain your own qualifications and recency, and actively contribute to continuous improvement through feedback, quality assurance activity and collaboration with programme owners, designers and delivery managers.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- You’ll bring a passion for learning and development, with the ability to engage, inspire and support diverse audiences.
- You’ll be an effective and confident facilitator with strong communication and presentation skills, able to adapt your approach to different learning styles and environments.
- You’ll be organised, detail‑focused and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of compliance and learner experience.
- You’ll show professional courage, speaking up when it’s the right thing to do, and take accountability for decisions made in the moment.
- Inclusive, approachable and collaborative, you’ll build trust quickly and act as a role model for BA’s values, behaviours and ways of working.
Your experience:
- Experience delivering training across multiple subject areas or programmes, with an understanding of adult learning principles and effective training practices.
- Confident delivering both in‑person and virtual training.
- IT literate, and comfortable presenting learning materials using a range of systems.
- Experience within an aviation environment and knowledge of relevant regulations is desirable, alongside a willingness to maintain ongoing professional development and personal recency.
- A learning and development qualification, such as CIPD, and additional operational or professional qualifications would be advantageous.
What we offer:
We believe that all the people who work with us should feel valued for the part they play. It’s one of the reasons our rewards go far beyond a competitive salary. From the day you join us, you’ll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights.
