The Role: Fleet Planning Analyst
Join our Network and Alliances team at British Airways as a Fleet Planning Analyst, where you’ll help shape the future of our fleet. This role is at the heart of strategic decision-making, supporting the planning, optimisation, and delivery of fleet plans for around 300 aircraft with a replacement value exceeding $20 billion. You will play a pivotal role in maximising commercial value, ensuring operational efficiency, and delivering customer-focused aircraft solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop detailed fleet plans, identifying opportunities for improvement such as aircraft utilisation and simplification, working closely with teams including Procurement, Air Trading, Scheduling, Engineering, and Operations.
- Lead and support cross-functional projects to design and implement cabin reconfigurations that enhance customer propositions while meeting operational needs.
- Build and maintain deep expertise in aircraft cost performance, producing detailed financial analyses to support new aircraft acquisitions and fleet extensions.
- Support the introduction of new aircraft types, coordinating stakeholders, manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Partner with manufacturers on seating configurations and performance data to inform strategic studies.
- Assist in aircraft retirement planning with close collaboration with Maintenance Planning.
- Support ongoing and ad-hoc fleet planning projects, contributing to long-term network and business objectives.
- Provide fleet strategy insights across BA subsidiaries and ensure accurate fleet metrics and regulatory reports are maintained.

Your Experience:
- Experience in planning, commercial, or operational roles within the aviation industry (or similar sectors).
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Knowledge of BA’s fleet and network, aircraft performance, economics, maintenance activities, and environmental issues is desirable.
- Familiarity with Fleet Planning systems such as FAM, NSA, and IDT is advantageous.
