The People directorate sits at the heart of British Airways, enabling our colleagues to deliver exceptional experiences for our customers every day. This is a rare opportunity to join during the implementation of one of the most significant People technology transformations in British Airways and then play a leading role in managing, optimising and evolving the solution as it transitions into business-as-usual service operations.

As we continue to evolve our People Technology landscape, we're looking for a People Systems Solution Lead to help shape and govern the future of how technology supports our people. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving innovation across our HR systems landscape, with Oracle Fusion HCM at its core, ensuring we maximise value from our technology investments while delivering scalable, secure and future-ready solutions across the business.

This role is ideally suited to someone coming from a Solutions Architecture/Consulting background with significant Oracle HCM Cloud implementation experience who is looking to move into an in-house strategic leadership role. Equally, you may be an experienced HRIS professional with a strong track record of operating within a complex enterprise technology environment, passionate about emerging technology, AI innovation and the ongoing evolution of Oracle HCM Cloud.

What you'll do:

  • Act as the solution architecture authority for Oracle Fusion HCM and the wider People Technology landscape, providing strategic direction on platform capabilities, solution design and best practice adoption.
  • Lead the design of scalable, secure and integrated technology solutions across all areas of the People function.
  • Translate business requirements into sustainable technology solutions that support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Partner with Product Owners, HRIS teams and People stakeholders to shape technology roadmaps and align priorities with architectural strategy.
  • Own and govern application, integration, data and security architecture across the People Technology ecosystem.
  • Assess and approve the impact of process and technology changes across HR systems, data, integrations and downstream platforms.
  • Govern the introduction of new People Technology capabilities, ensuring alignment with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards and cyber requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, Technology Delivery, Data teams, Service Management and third-party suppliers to implement new solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to projects, suppliers and support partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the People Technology landscape, reducing complexity, improving supportability and minimising technical debt.
  • Lead the assessment of Oracle quarterly releases, ensuring enhancements align with British Airways' roadmap, emerging business requirements and our Oracle-first philosophy.
  • Actively monitor Oracle's product evolution, AI capabilities and innovation opportunities to ensure British Airways continues to maximise value from its investment and remains evergreen.

What you'll bring to British Airways:

  • Proven experience within HR, People Systems, HRIS or enterprise technology environments supporting business and technology transformation.
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into practical technology solutions and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent understanding of system integrations, data flows, governance and the impact of change across interconnected systems.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion HCM and wider HR technology platforms.
  • Proven experience delivering Oracle HCM Cloud implementations within a consulting and complex enterprise environment.
  • Experience shaping technology roadmaps, architecture decisions and solution governance within a cloud-based ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integrations, data architecture, cyber security considerations and technology operating models.
  • Active engagement with Oracle HCM Cloud communities, product forums and industry developments would be highly advantageous.
  • Oracle certifications and a demonstrable interest in AI, automation and emerging HR technology trends would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of solution architecture principles, enterprise design standards and technology governance frameworks is desirable.

This is a fantastic opportunity to influence the future direction of British Airways' People technology landscape, working towards business transformation, technology innovation and an overall better colleague experience.
