The role: Licensed Aircraft Engineer. You will work in partnership with a business area of circa. 100 colleagues providing expertise, advice, and support. This role is located at London Gatwick and is based in a terminal-based operational environment, leading our Technicians and Mechanics on shift to oversee departures every day.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and supervise maintenance activities including setting clear targets and expectations to deliver departmental objectives.
- Responsible for the successful completion of all allocated, planned and ad-hoc maintenance tasks.
- Be responsible for remaining qualified and authorised required aircraft types, vehicles and equipment applicable to area and able to carry out all tasks associated with the Certifying Licenced Technician role.
- Be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to quality, health, safety and environment regulations and housekeeping standards.
- Hold a BX stamp, carry out the requirements of a BX stamp holder (as required by the area).
- Create a culture of continuous improvement in a production environment, in order to increase unit performance and colleague development.
- Support the development of a high performing team and culture, in line with the company Hallmarks.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Ability to interpret technical publications to make fact-based decisions in a complex operating environment.
- Highly self-motivated, capable of working as part of a team as well as leading a team.
- Stakeholder management.
Your experience:
- CAA Part-66 Category B licence.
- Unrestricted B1 or B2.
- Valid full UK driving licence (or equivalent) (desirable).
- Ability to hold an airport restricted zone access.
- Ability to hold an airside driving licence.
