The role: Communications Performance & Insights Lead

We’re looking for a strategic, data-savvy storyteller to join our Corporate Affairs team as Communications Performance & Insights Lead – a pivotal role that incorporates analytics, creativity and influence. The Corporate Affairs team is a high-impact function at the heart of British Airways, with a vision to grow pride and trust in the airline through impactful storytelling both internally and externally. This role plays an important part in ensuring our communications are insight-led, effective and continuously improving.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive measurement and insights reporting framework across Corporate Affairs activity, which provides engaging and digestible insightsto assess theimpact and effectiveness of all communications activity
  • Collect, analyse and interpret data in a clear and engaging way (e.g. dashboards) that is easily understood and acted on, and valued across Corporate Affairs and the wider business. Insights should guide communications decision-making, inform strategy and improve engagement
  • Gather data sets and insights from across the business and incorporate these into reporting and dashboards, to provide greater depth and breadth to Corporate Affairs analysis and highlight where we can support the business more through our communications (ie, ba.com destination search data following a route launch, customer data insight following a product launch etc)
  • Conduct social media listening and relevant media monitoring, identifying reputational issues and trends and deliver real-time insights
  • Work with colleagues and external agencies to track and evaluate Corporate Affairs activity performance
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and bring fresh thinking to how we use and present data

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

The successful candidate will be a proactive, strategic thinker with a strong foundation in data analytics and communications measurement. They’ll bring a positive attitude and a growth mindset, with the ability to work independently, solve problems and remain calm under pressure. With excellent attention to detail, they’ll manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality insights to deadline. They’ll be confident in building relationships, influencing stakeholders and collaborating across teams and with external partners. The ideal candidate will be experienced in distilling complex data into clear, engaging reports and dashboards, always looking for ways to improve how insights are used and presented across the Corporate Affairs function.

Your experience:

  • 5 years+ experience of working with communications-related data and analytics and social media listening and all associated tools
  • Experience of working in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Strong, demonstrable understanding of social media landscape and best practice
  • Proven experience of reporting to drive improvements and increase impact
