About the role

Successful candidates will be offered employment as a pilot flying the Airbus A320 based at London Heathrow. The customer is at the heart of everything that we do. Starting on our short-haul Airbus fleet you will be able to choose if you want to transfer to one of our 4 long-haul fleets or select to stay and become a captain on short-haul. Responsibilities

  • Provide the most excellent flight experience for each passenger.
  • Operate the Airbus A320 safely and efficiently on short‑haul flights.
  • Maintain BA’s high standards of safety, service and performance.
  • Participate in BA’s training, recruitment and other non‑flying roles as required.

Qualifications

  • 500 flight hours on a relevant aircraft type (non‑simulator) and have flown the type in the last 12 months.
  • Current UK issued CAA Flight Crew Licence ATPL (A), fATPL (A), MPL.
  • UK Class 1 medical.
  • Height 1.57m (5'2")–1.91m (6'3") inclusive (tall pilots may be considered after a functionality check).
  • Good level of physical fitness.
  • Spoken and written English ICAO level 6.
  • Valid passport (minimum 12 months before expiry).
  • Ability to comply with BA uniform standards (tattoos permissible except on hands, face, head).
  • Ability to swim 50 m then tread water for 3 min and assist people in water.
  • Ability to tread water while wearing a life jacket and pull oneself out of water into a life raft using hand holds.
  • Part‑FCL relevant aircraft definition (multi‑pilot turbo‑jet or turbo‑prop meeting CS‑25/10 t tonnes or >19 passengers).
