A key leadership role at the core of Global Operations, responsible for the strategic direction, regulatory oversight, and day-to-day performance of Flight Dispatch and navigation services. As Senior Manager Flight Dispatch, you will ensure our global operation runs safely, compliantly, and efficiently across a 24/7 network.

You will lead a team of Duty Managers and Flight Dispatch professionals, setting clear standards, strengthening governance, and driving improvements that enhance operational resilience and support digital transformation. Working closely with Global Operations, Flight Operations, the IOC, and senior industry partners, you will influence policy, advance ATC mitigation strategies, and shape the tools and processes that underpin critical operational decisions.

This role blends long-term strategic responsibility with real-time operational leadership. You will safeguard regulatory compliance, maintain robust training and licensing frameworks, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. With a complex international schedule and an evolving operational environment, you will ensure our people, systems, and processes are equipped to deliver a safe, reliable, and high-performance dispatch operation every day.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team of Duty Managers and Flight Dispatch professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and personal development.
  • Maintain, continuously improve, and simplify Flight Dispatch procedures and requirements in line with industry standards and regulatory obligations.
  • As the designated owner of Flight Dispatch technical and regulatory standards on behalf of Flight Operations, ensure appropriate governance and assurance by proactively monitoring compliance, ensuring timely investigation of reported non-compliance, ensuring corrective action taken when needed.
  • Ensure licensing, training, and recency requirements for all Flight Dispatch personnel are completed and maintained to the required standard. Design and oversee the training delivery plan, including material development, version control, and technical verification assessments of Duty Managers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders to influence future developments; provide expert guidance and specialised knowledge to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and implement BA internal and industry strategic initiatives in Air Traffic Control mitigation and operational resilience through innovation e.g. BA Flight Watch; IIQP.
  • Manage relationships with third-party suppliers of IT tools and data supply ensuring standards and compliance, performance reviews, and adherence to BA documented procedures.
  • Develop, exercise, and maintain appropriate Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for Flight Dispatch operations.

  • Proven background in project or change management, with the ability to deliver sustainable operational improvements.
  • Experience leading or working within complex operational environments, ideally in dispatch, crewing, or related functions.
  • A proactive, solution-driven mindset with a focus on enhancing performance and driving continuous improvement.
