The role: Business Analyst (Agile & Aviation Systems). Be at the forefront of agile transformation at British Airways! As part of the Delivery Directorate, you will play a key role in bringing agile change to life by role modelling and embedding agile ways of working, while applying SAFe as an overarching framework. This department is essential in driving our digital transformation, ensuring that every change we implement adds value, improves efficiency, and aligns with our strategic objectives. You’ll also support the delivery of change across CUSS, bag drop, and biometric systems, ensuring solutions are operationally effective and compliant.

What you’ll do:

  • Facilitate workshops to understand business needs, capturing and documenting requirements to craft solutions that meet objectives.
  • Collaborate with product teams to develop detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and examples using Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Analyse CUSS, bag drop, and biometric system requirements, ensuring solutions are operationally fit and deliver value to customers.
  • Ensure system compliance with visa and travel document verification requirements.
  • Support Product Owners during Programme Increment (PI) planning and backlog refinement.
  • Design solutions with internal teams and third-party providers, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture strategies.
  • Produce reporting and governance documentation, communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Analyse system data to provide insights that support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in team demos and retrospectives to improve processes and working practices.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • A strong ability to lead workshops and facilitate discussions.
  • Excellent skills in stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship building, both internally and externally.
  • A dynamic problem-solving approach, with the ability to adapt and guide others through business and IT changes.
  • Knowledge or experience with aviation technologies such as CUSS, biometrics, and bag drop systems (desirable).
  • A passion for embedding agile methodologies and ensuring their successful application across the organisation through SAFe.

Your experience:

  • Proven experience in a Business Analyst role within an Agile delivery setting, ideally with SAFe Agile exposure.
  • Experience in working with digital product teams, process engineering, and requirement documentation.
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks, process mapping tools, and Agile/waterfall management tools.
  • Experience with system compliance, governance reporting, or visa/document validation is an advantage.
  • Exposure to international operations and cross-cultural work environments is a plus.
