This role may lead a team and is responsible for delivering insights into the Engineering business through the development of business reports, trend and statistical analysis of operational data, benchmarking and market intelligence, and supporting strategic and operational decisions. The role will not only use, but also continually improve processes and systems that may be complex and require specific knowledge through the use of data and analysis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with knowledge of engineering supply chain processes and data, wishing to develop their existing analytical skills to an advanced level. The successful candidate will have an existing understanding of SAP purchasing and material movements. Knowledge of SQL and Tableau/PowerBI will be advantageous, but not essential if the candidate can demonstrate a high degree of competence with analytical tools such as Excel.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver the performance monitoring process for all business areas, providing insights on current business performance, highlighting issues and opportunities, leading to actions that deliver Engineering efficiencies and performance targets.
- Compile statistical analysis on both strategic and tactical issues to drive informed debate and effective decision‑making for Engineering, resulting in an improved contribution to BA.
- Support the development of the finance plan, business plan and strategy within Engineering, working with key stakeholders to deliver associated actions, recommendations and deliverables.
- Provide company profiles of key competitors and strategic business partners, updating the market intelligence database with the latest competitor information.
- Develop and deliver benchmarking analysis to assess Engineering’s performance with market best practices through an activity‑based costing approach.
- Support the delivery of campaign/trial business cases and evaluation of activity to agreed best practice.
- Input to monthly financial reviews and forecasting, proposing focus areas and key messages in agreement with stakeholders.
- Manage own portfolio of work using good project and time management practices.
