Overview

In this B2 Engineer role at Gatwick you diagnose and fix electrical, avionics and aircraft systems to keep A320 family and B777 fleets flying. You will support live operations, casualty work and planned maintenance within a collaborative line-maintenance team. The position offers exposure to upcoming B787 work as the fleet evolves, with a stable 2 days/2 nights shift pattern. You help maintain high safety and engineering standards while supporting cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Certify and perform maintenance on A320 family and B777 aircraft per licence and procedures
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical, avionics and system defects
  • Support daily flying programme ensuring safe, compliant maintenance
  • Provide technical expertise during aircraft casualties and complex defect investigations
  • Support scheduled maintenance activities with the Gatwick Line Maintenance team
  • Lead and supervise maintenance within area of expertise, giving guidance to colleagues
  • Collaborate with B1 engineers, Operations, Maintrol, Planning and other Engineering teams
  • Ensure accurate maintenance records using digital systems
  • Maintain high safety, compliance and professionalism standards

Key requirements

  • Unrestricted UK CAA Part-66 B2 Licence with an appropriate aircraft type rating
  • Recent aircraft certification experience
  • UK Driving Licence or equivalent
  • Strong fault-finding and technical problem-solving capability
  • Safety-focused approach and ability to work in a busy operational environment

  • Dual-licence B1/B2 encouraged (advantage)
