The Role
At British Airways, aircraft delivery from base maintenance to the terminal operation is a fundamental part of our engineering organisation — and we’re looking for licensed engineers who take ownership of that responsibility. This is a role for engineers who lead from the front: setting the standard for safety, airworthiness and quality, making confident decisions under pressure, and ensuring every aircraft is delivered right the first time. If you’re a B‑licensed engineer who thrives on accountability, values teamwork, and wants to play a visible, trusted role in protecting the integrity of the BA operation, this is where your expertise truly matters. Resource Management
- Deliver the operation to defined production targets ensuring alignment to the maintenance plan and aircraft compliance.
- Provide effective leadership of maintenance colleagues, setting and managing clear expectations to deliver the operation on the day.
- Allocate tasks as required by the maintenance plan.
- Champion high‑quality standards, monitor trends, and oversee continuous improvement to define and implement permanent solutions.
- Ensure communication of aircraft in‑work status and oversee requirements between Planning and Production departments.
- Act as the point of contact for all Engineers, flight crew and planning.
Technical Expertise
- Provide technical support as first point of contact for operational colleagues.
- Provide technical feedback to business stakeholders as appropriate, including Technical specialists and Planning.
- Support engineers with complex technical issues; you will need to understand technical documents and new technologies.
- Actively engage with engineers rectifying defects.

You Will Need
- Aircraft maintenance B licence holder with demonstrable experience of certifying in an aircraft maintenance environment.
- Ability to hold CAA C licence (essential in Base Maintenance Environment).
- Valid full UK driving licence (or equivalent) – desirable.
- Ability to hold an airport restricted zone access (essential for Terminal‑based role).
- Ability to hold an airside driving licence – desirable.
- Demonstrable appropriate knowledge and/or experience to the area (structural repairs, ramp operations, base area).
- Desirable to hold and ability to gain CRS on relevant Aircraft Types for the area.
- Good knowledge of safety and quality management systems.
- Knowledge of working in an Engineering satellite office.
