The role:
- Lead a team of Flight Operations Engineers and Flight Technical Support Executives.
- Responsible for accuracy and content of elements of the BA Operations Manual including Load and Balance Manuals, Performance Manuals.
- Responsible for accuracy of safety-critical data for key operational systems including FM, LIDO/Flight, FMS Databases etc.
- Set company standards and recommend policies relating to Navigation data, Aerodromes, Aircraft Performance, Flight Test and Weight and Balance related issues.
- Manage safety, risk and Management of Change performance of all elements of the Flight Operations Engineering and Flight Technical Support Executive teams.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulatory regimes particularly UK & EASA OPS.
- Define strategy in relation to all aspects of Operations Engineering.
- Represent BA at key industry and regulatory bodies (e.g CAA, IATA, A4E) seeking positions of influence where beneficial.
- Support other operational areas, e.g. CLC, Global Ops Flight Dispatch, Engineering, Fleet and Network Planning as a subject matter expert.
- Maintain 24/7 ad hoc operational technical support within the scope of the Operations Engineering team.
- Will be a subject matter expert and participate in projects on behalf of Head of Flight Technical.
- Develop a high performing team that drives innovation, productivity, excellence and continuous improvement.

- Thorough knowledge of relevant regulations, particularly UK & EASA OPS.

Your experience:
- Aeronautical, Engineering qualification (or equivalent) to Degree or equivalent standard - Essential.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems - Essential.
- Project Management skills - Desirable.
- Experience with Amadeus, LIDO/Flight, Boeing and Airbus Performance tools - Desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years Aviation industry experience - Desirable.
- People Management experience - Desirable.
