The role: Delivery Support Engineer. Responsible for supporting the EDM to deliver a stable Engineering plan and outstanding operational performance to support the 24hr Engineering Operation. As the Delivery Support Engineer, you will use your Technical and Procedural knowledge to support the EDM ensuring compliance is maintained and processes and procedures are followed. You will have daily interaction across Engineering and Combined Operations to deliver safe and serviceable aircraft on time to plan in order to meet our business goals.

What you'll do:

  • Support the EDM on-shift and support the Operational Delivery Team and Maintrol.
  • Demonstrate the required hallmarks and behaviours using the information available to you to maintain Engineering operational oversight.
  • Support the EDM to ensure aircraft compliance, managing all immediate airworthiness issues as they arise.
  • Drive plan achievement and operational performance.
  • Identify and build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within engineering and across British Airways to ensure focus on providing customer satisfaction and plan delivery.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and challenge the status quo to drive improvement into operational processes and delivery.
  • Have responsibility for ADD / Op Def clearance process across Engineering and monitoring to drive success.
  • Manage the expeditious return to service of all unscheduled unserviceable aircraft worldwide.
  • Continuously monitor and act to improve ETS for casualty and planned aircraft inputs.
  • Support the EDM in making "on the day" operational decisions and achieve the agreed performance measures, hold stakeholders to account for delivery of the plan by building relationships and identifying blockers that can be overcome.
  • Communicate with a wide range of departments/colleagues across Engineering and Global Operations on a regular basis providing updates on operational issues as required.
  • Arrange/co‐ordinate/attend/manage meetings as appropriate to fulfil the responsibilities of supporting the EDM.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Engineering procedures for accidents, incidents and business continuity issues.
  • Perform other assignments and duties as required.

Your experience:

  • An appropriate technical/operational qualification, engineering apprenticeship or operational management experience (Essential).
  • Extensive aircraft production/technical background (Essential).
  • Holder UK/EASA or equivalent Part 66 maintenance licence (Preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern large aircraft, their structures, systems and powerplant (Essential).
  • Hands‐on maintenance experience on British Airways operated aircraft types (Preferred).
  • Working knowledge of aircraft operations control centre working practices (Preferred).
  • Understanding of Part‐21, Part‐M and Part‐145 regulations (Preferred).
  • Understanding of aircraft maintenance planning principles (Preferred).
  • Proficient in IT system including aircraft monitoring software, SAP (Desirable) and the Microsoft Office 365 suite (Essential).
