Data Governance Lead
Data has the power to transform every customer journey and this role is at the heart of making that happen.
As our Data Governance Lead, you'll help shape how customer data is managed, protected and used across British Airways.
Working within our Commercial team, you'll lead the governance of customer data, ensuring it remains accurate, trusted and compliant while supporting better decision-making across the business.
You'll collaborate with teams spanning CRM, Technology, Cyber Security, Legal and Privacy, helping us unlock the value of data while keeping our customers' trust at the centre of everything we do.

What you'll do
- Lead Data Governance activities across customer data domains.
- Define, implement and continuously improve data governance policies, standards and processes.
- Partner with Data Governance leads across British Airways to drive a consistent enterprise-wide approach.
- Champion data quality, compliance, security and ethical use of customer information.
- Support key governance initiatives across areas such as AI, Gen AI and data sharing.
- Define customer data policies and help ensure alignment with privacy regulations and business objectives.
- Establish and maintain data classification, security and compliance standards.
- Drive improvements in customer data quality, accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure customer data definitions and standards are applied consistently across business processes.
- Protect CRM data quality and consent accuracy.
- Support data subject rights requests and customer privacy activities in partnership with the Data Protection team.
- Provide strategic oversight of customer data, helping teams better understand, manage and govern it.

Your experience
- Strong experience working with GDPR and broader privacy frameworks.
- Ability to explain technical controls and data concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience leading or supporting Data Governance activities within a large organisation is desirable.
- Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and/or Customer Data Platforms (CDP) is advantageous.
- Proven ability to work across multiple teams and influence a broad stakeholder network.
- Experience developing or embedding governance, quality or compliance frameworks for data.
