An opportunity has arisen for a Fleet Logistics Coordinator working within the Operations Support Team at British Airways Maintenance Glasgow. The role provides critical support to the Facilities & Supply Chain, Inventory and Production teams to ensure all materials, tools, equipment or vehicles for in‑work aircraft are available to meet the aircraft maintenance plan and that data accuracy is maintained.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate planned and unplanned materials, tools, equipment or vehicles to support operational requirements and maintenance inputs, using initiative to overcome challenges, raise shipping and return requests, inclusive of QL’s as required.
- Identify and resolve shortages, provide solutions and obtain clear delivery times that are aligned and regularly communicate to the Operations Support Team and Production colleagues as required.
- Prioritise workload and take action as appropriate, in line with direction provided and all company procedures and policies.
- Communicate performance, significant events and operational decisions to stakeholders in a timely manner, escalating as necessary.
- Assist with determining optimal material decisions within the Operations Support Team.
- Expedite outstanding material shortages with the relevant organisation, supplier and/or owning areas, including use of AOG process when appropriate.
- Assist the Operations Support Team and Production colleagues in the identification of materials or components required.
- Coordinate local data accuracy and assist in the clearance of unserviceable and serviceable materials including fit and remove support.
- Coordinate compliance processes including - but not limited to - Component Robbery, AERs, W2s SLOC 2000/3000 and Structure gaps.
- Proactively provide the Operations Support Team with material reports for current and future inputs, resolve clearance of SLOC 2000/3000.
- Compilation of data and statistics of stock usage coordinating potential changes in local stock holdings in support of maintenance inputs.
- Coordinate and expedite not stocked requests with relevant inventory owner.
- Ensure high‑quality communication takes place with all stakeholders, suppliers and customers and that this takes place in a timely and accurate manner.
- Expected to work collaboratively within the department and throughout the airline and with its partners and suppliers.
- Demonstrate the required hallmarks and behaviours using the information available to support the technical oversight of HM checks.
- Ensures compliance with all appropriate company, legal and regulatory requirements and any other regulations, as directed by line manager or the business.
Qualifications

- Strong data‑led and operational decision‑making capability.
- Highly proficient on EWS/ SAP systems.
- Experience of working in a maintenance environment, preferably aircraft.
- Numerate with good problem‑solving ability.
- Proven working knowledge of procedures and terminology applicable to aircraft maintenance, logistics and regulated environment.
- Legislative awareness of quality, health and safety and environment requirements.
- Good influencing, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and working to deadlines and standards.
- Delivering to customer and business requirements.
- Ability to work autonomously and take accountability for decisions.
- Commitment to continuous learning and development.
- Level 2 (O'Grade / Standard Grade / Nat 4) Qualifications (or equivalent) including Maths and English (essential).
- Knowledge of supply chain management (essential).
- Good Knowledge of BA Engineering IT systems (desirable).
- Knowledge of IPC and Technical publications/information systems (desirable).
