The Fleet Logistics Coordinator (FLC) is an integral member of the Supply Chain Team who works closely with the Engineering production teams to ensure all materials, tooling and equipment are readily available to meet the aircraft maintenance plan and support the delivery of aircraft in maintenance. It’s an opportunity to learn new skills, develop your talents and advance your career.

What you’ll do:

  • Coordinates planned and unplanned materials, tools, equipment or vehicles to support operational requirements and maintenance inputs, using their initiative to overcome challenges.
  • Identifies and resolves shortages, providing solutions and obtaining clear delivery times that are regularly communicated to the Satellite team and Production colleagues as required.
  • Expedites outstanding material shortages with owning areas, including use of AOG process when appropriate.
  • Assists the Satellite team and Production colleagues in the identification of materials or components required.
  • Coordinates local data accuracy and assists in the clearance of unserviceable and serviceable materials including fit and remove support.
  • Coordinates compliance processes including, but not limited to, Component Robbery, AERs, W2s and Structure gaps.
  • Proactively provides the Satellite team with material reports for current and future inputs.
  • Compilation of data and statistics of stock usage coordinating potential changes in local stock holdings in support of maintenance inputs.
  • Coordinates and expedites not stocked requests with relevant inventory owner.
  • Ensures high-quality communication takes place with all stakeholders, suppliers and customers and that this takes place in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Expected to work collaboratively within the department and throughout the airline as a whole, its partners and suppliers.
  • Ensures compliance with all appropriate company, legal and regulatory requirements and any other regulations, as directed by line manager or the business.
  • Creates a workplace culture which enables excellent teamwork and promotes high performance, in line with the company hallmarks.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Highly proficient on systems.
  • Experience of working in an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Numerate with good problem solving ability.
  • Proven working knowledge of procedures and terminology applicable to aircraft maintenance, logistics and regulated environment.
  • Legislative awareness of quality, health and safety and environment requirements.
  • Good influencing, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Working to deadlines and standards.
  • Delivering to customer and business requirements.

Your experience:

  • Level 2 Qualifications (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Full UK DVLA Driving Licence, category B for manual transmission (minimum of 12 months driving experience with a full licence).
  • Able to obtain an Airside Pass and Airside driving permit.
  • Able to acquire a forklift driving licence and any additional truck licence in support of area.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Good knowledge of BA Engineering IT systems.
  • Knowledge of IPC and Technical publications/information systems.
