This originality has been in our blood since day one. It's the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you're inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The role: Ethics & Compliance Operations Manager

Ethics and Compliance helps British Airways do the right thing, every day.

Working across the airline, the team protects our reputation, supports responsible decision-making and helps ensure we operate with integrity in everything we do.

What if ethics and compliance could help drive better decisions, stronger relationships and better business outcomes?

We're looking for an experienced Ethics & Compliance Operations Manager to help drive and strengthen our ethics and compliance programme across British Airways.

This is an opportunity to shape how ethics and compliance is delivered across the business, working closely with senior leaders to turn great ideas into action and make a real impact!

  • Partner with leaders across the business to provide expert compliance guidance and support.

  • Manage our whistleblowing programme, providing oversight for all matters raised through confidential reporting channels and delivering direction and expertise throughout investigations
  • Develop and maintain key compliance policies, including anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, trade compliance and third-party risk management.
  • Actively engage with and monitor our working practices to identify compliance risks, control weaknesses and opportunities to strengthen governance and mitigate risk.
  • Use your subject matter expertise to build and nurture strong relationships and collaboration across British Airways and the wider IAG network.

What we're looking for

A strong understanding of ethics, compliance and risk management, combined with the confidence to influence and challenge constructively at every level.

The ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues, apply sound judgement and make compliance practical, relevant and engaging.

Just as importantly, a genuine enthusiasm for helping people do the right thing and creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable speaking up!

  • Your experience
  • Significant experience in ethics, compliance or regulatory roles, ideally gained within a large or complex organisation (typically gained through several years in a similar role).
  • A track record of influencing and supporting stakeholders, including senior leaders, across a global business.
  • Experienced in managing complex and sensitive compliance issues, investigations and regulatory interactions.
  • Strong understanding of organisational risk management, ideally within businesses operating across diverse markets and supply chains.
  • Knowledge of key legislation including the UK Bribery Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, and global sanctions regimes.

  • From the day you join us, you'll get access to brilliant staff travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights.
  • You'll also receive up to 30 discounted Hotline' airfares per year for yourself, friends, and family.
