The Role: Communications & Engagement Executive, Cabin Crew Team. Are you a talented communicator with a passion for aviation? British Airways Cabin Crew Team is seeking a Communication and Engagement Executive. In this pivotal role, you will be the voice that connects our Cabin Crew, our Management Team and all our supporting operations teams. This role ensures everyone stays informed, engaged, and aligned with our mission of operational excellence. You will craft compelling content across multiple channels, from digital platforms to face-to-face briefings, while fostering a culture of transparency and two-way dialogue.
What you’ll do:
- Create and deliver high-quality tactical, technical, and business-as-usual communications to large audiences.
- Translate complex operational and technical details into clear, engaging messages.
- Manage and update digital content across internal platforms, moderating activity and responding to colleague queries in real time.
- Plan and execute engagement initiatives, events, and recognition activities, including Cabin crew events throughout the year, promoting safety and training initiatives, product and safety roadshows, and wellbeing campaigns.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications and engagement activities, using insights to improve impact.
- Identify and mitigate risks, supporting crisis communications when required.
- Work independently as the primary communicator within your directorate, while collaborating with the central communications team.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Strong ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and presenting verbally to wide-ranging audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Viva Engage, and various intranet tools is desirable, along with a positive and proactive approach.
- You will demonstrate resilience even in the most demanding situations.
- You will be skilled at planning, prioritising and managing multiple projects with efficiency, whilst bringing creativity and flexibility to everything you do.
- Your collaborative nature helps you build strong relationships and influence stakeholders effectively.
- You also keep yourself well-informed about current affairs and maintain a keen awareness of both our internal environment and the wider business landscape.
Your experience:
- Proven experience in crafting and executing communication plans aligned with business objectives. Essential.
- Skilled in creating engaging content and managing stakeholder relationships. Essential.
- Experience handling communications during sensitive or challenging situations. Desirable.
- Ability to measure communication effectiveness and act on insights to improve outcomes. Desirable.
