The role: Maintenance Team Leader. An opportunity has arisen for Maintenance Team Leaders (MTL) at both B1 and B2 level, working within the Operations team at British Airways Maintenance Glasgow. The role of MTL is to lead and supervise maintenance teams carrying out scheduled maintenance tasks, inspections, and defect rectification. The MTL is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of their teams as well as looking after the development of the team.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintenance oversight of individual and team activities ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and company standards.
  • Collaborates with colleagues, Shift Manager and EST Department to achieve targets for the department.
  • Provide technical leadership of teams' maintenance tasks.
  • Organise and agree team work schedule and allocate tasks to deliver areas to agreed targets.
  • Sign off work on completion within full scope of individual approval.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Good technical decision making.
  • Good leadership and people skills.
  • PC literate, can work with Engineering systems and document management systems.
  • Effective communicator at all levels within the organisation.
  • Ability to work under pressure to timescales.

Your experience:

  • UK CAA Part 66 Licence, B1 and/or B2, A320 family type rating.
  • 3 years aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Experience in leading teams in an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Working knowledge of engineering processes and procedures.
