The UK’s leading aerosol trade association, BAMA is recruiting for a full-time, permanent Technical Manager.
Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the BAMA team, Panels and Working Groups, the
role may be home-based with regular visits to the BAMA offices in Stevenage. The successful candidate will also be
required to travel throughout the UK, often to Europe and sometimes globally.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Training: Prepare and deliver external and in-company training courses and bespoke training content. Support in
the organisation and identification of event venues, provide input on BAMA’s online training portal, liaise with BAMA’s web designers and update training course content.
Member visits: Engage with member companies on technical issues and provide regulatory updates. Log
new developments at member companies, explore new opportunities to support members, identify potential
new members, and assist members in utilising the BAMA Standard for self-assessment processes.
Project management: Help manage projects agreed by BAMA Technical Panels, prepare timelines and progress
updates for the panels. Prepare reports which will be delivered to the Committee, and create Industry Guides
and Best Practice documents.
Event management:
Work with the BAMA team to promote and deliver BAMA’s set piece events, help promote and
deliver ad hoc events and other meetings, and carry out any other duties as requested by management.
Skills and competencies
• Strong knowledge of the aerosol industry or FMCG sectoral knowledge such as regulation, formulation, or manufacturing
• Strong presentational skills with the ability to deliver at a variety of levels
• Robust project management capabilities
• A self-starter, strong communicator, and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
• A team player able to manage their work stream and promote new ideas
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Knowledge of one or more additional languages would be useful but is not essential
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• A full UK driving licence.
