Job Purpose
You’ll be joining BritBox International’s Architecture team — a small, hands‑on group that shapes how the company’s technology is built and evolves. We define technical standards, evaluate new technologies, run proof‑of‑concepts, and make sure the right design decisions are made before they become expensive problems. AI tools, cloud infrastructure, streaming technology, and developer experience are all in our world. This isn’t a shadowing role. You’ll contribute to real work, get exposure to how a global streaming platform thinks about technology at scale, and leave with tangible experience you can talk about.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of focused design or validation tasks — we’ll scope them well, but you’ll drive them.
- Test and challenge the behaviour of systems and architectures, documenting what you find.
- Collect and analyse data to support technical decisions and design reviews.
- Build small scripts or tools to support proof‑of‑concept work.
- Contribute to technical documentation that the wider team actually uses.
- Work alongside architects on live technology problems — ask questions, push back, bring ideas.
Knowledge and Experience
- You’ve built something - an app, a script, a side project, a university assignment. We care more about that than your CV title.
- You have a genuine interest in how technology works at a systems level: APIs, cloud, networking, or how streaming platforms deliver content.
- AI tools excite you — you use them, experiment with them, and think about how they fit into real workflows.
- AWS or any cloud platform experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
- You’re comfortable with uncertainty and willing to figure things out - that’s most of what architecture actually is.
