Role Purpose
As the first point of contact for visitors, clients, contractors and employees, the Reception & Business Administrator plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional and well-organised environment. With a primary focus on reception and front-of-house services, you will also provide administrative support across the Business Support function.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Reception & Front of House
- Deliver a professional and welcoming reception service.
- Manage front-of-house activities, visitor access and communications.
- Be vigilant in maintaining site security.
- Coordinate deliveries, post, telephone enquiries and general reception activities.
- Maintain a safe, organised and professional reception environment.
- Ensure reception records and documentation are accurate.
- Act as the central point of contact for employees.
- Business Administrator
- Provide administrative support across the Business Support team.
- Maintain accurate business records and support employee administration.
- Assist with meetings, travel, training activities, purchasing and employee events.
- Produce reports and maintain documentation.
- Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to improving administrative and reception processes.
- Support the development and maintenance of departmental procedures.
- Collaboration & Cross-Cover
- Work collaboratively with colleagues.
Working Relationships
You will work closely with colleagues across Business Support, HR, Training, Operations, Finance and Leadership.
Working Pattern
This role operates on a rota basis. Flexibility is essential to meet changing business and operational requirements.

Essential
- Previous experience in a reception, customer service or administrative role.
- Experience using a multi-user phone system.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Professional and approachable.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience within a busy operational or logistics environment.
- Experience using integrated business management systems.
