We are growing our RF team and now have an exciting opportunity to become an Experienced Warehouse Technician within our RF & Mics department.

Based in Chessington and Brooklands, Weybridge the Experienced RF & Mics Warehouse Technician will be reporting to our Head of Department.

What will you do?

As a Warehouse Technician you will be involved in all aspects of the running of the RF & Mics Department, including managing, testing and maintaining our equipment.

Plus 4 Audio stocks the latest RF equipment from Shure, Sennheiser and Wisycom, including both digital and analogue systems.

You will need to quickly develop a good understanding and knowledge of our equipment and the needs of both local and worldwide clients.

Every project is different, and you’ll be working with a brilliant team who specialise in making things happen, from concept to delivery.

Reporting directly to the Head of Department you will assist in the preparation and de-reparation of equipment and ensure the smooth running of the department within the warehouse.

Everything we do is time critical, so the ability to work efficiently and sometimes for extended hours is essential whilst maintaining very high standards.

The right person for this role will be a great team player with sharp attention to detail and accuracy, who thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Your Main Responsibilities Are

  • Bench test RF equipment using spectrum analyzers and RF generators.
  • Ensure equipment is fully functional and on the latest firmware.
  • Preparation and building of RF racks and systems.
  • Liaise with your Head of Department to ensure the equipment has the correct settings and frequencies.
  • RF performance and audio testing of all equipment before leaving the shop.
  • Help organise the RF & Mics department ensuring equipment is de-prepped and ready to be deployed and company processes are followed.
  • Ensure equipment is delivered within timelines and with appropriate packaging and documentation.
  • Ensure that the equipment prepared for supply matches the equipment listed on the job specification with 100% accuracy.
  • Confirm that returning equipment is checked-in and matches the equipment that went out, with 100% accuracy.
  • Store equipment in the correct place.
  • Report to the head of department any anomalies, lost or damaged equipment.
  • To follow through with immediacy on all late returns and shortages.
  • Responsible for preparing, testing, cleaning and quality control for equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Maintain an open dialogue within the department and with other departmental staff to facilitate performance, processes and productivity.
  • Communicate effectively with the Operations Department, other team members within the department as well as Prep/de-prep Dept and the Warehouse Manager regarding the preparation of equipment, specific requirements for each job and deadlines to achieve the above.
  • Ensure RF & Microphone preparation areas are maintained in a clean, organised and tidy condition.
  • Comply with Health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Checking all equipment requiring PAT testing is up to date in the department.
  • Supplying technical support to warehouse staff, apprentices, and freelance crew.
  • Provide cover as a departmental representative when necessary.
  • On site work when required.
  • Providing guidance and training to apprentices within the department.
  • Collaborate with the Comms & Data Services department to share knowledge particularly on Radio equipment.

What skills and experience do we want?

  • A good understanding of audio equipment, RF equipment and microphones.
  • Hands-on experience of working with audio systems.
  • You will need to be reliable, and possess a logical and systematic approach to work whilst meeting strict deadlines.
  • The ability to work efficiently and sometimes for extended hours is essential whilst maintaining very high standards.
  • You will have a keen interest in gaining experience in the technical and operational side of the professional audio industry.
  • We are looking for someone with drive and ambition, with technical skills and a "can do attitude".
  • You must be highly organised, a great Communicator and able to swiftly build strong working relationships.
  • We want a team player with sharp attention to detail and accuracy, who thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
