We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice as Pharmacy Dispenser to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills, be able to work well in a team, and will support the pharmacist in the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of prescriptions, while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high professional standards.
Training
You will be working in a pharmacy and undertaking various duties on the Medical Counter and Dispensary including:
- Serving customers
- Providing healthcare advice
- Recommending and signposting services
- Ordering and checking stock
- Supporting the dispensing of medication under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Stock control
- Labelling
- Downloading prescriptions
- Liaising with GP and other healthcare providers in relation to prescription queries
Training will be provided alongside the NVQ level 2 courses - Medical Counter Assistant and Dispensary Assistant.
Duties
- Provide courteous and professional service to patients and customers
- Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and rotating stock
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements
- Support the pharmacist with administrative tasks and record keeping
- Promote health services and over-the-counter products where appropriate
- Ensure the dispensary and work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant
