The Role
The Operations Team at Britannia sits within a new shared services company, CIMAS Consulting Group Ltd, as part of the support function for the Britannia Financial Group. The Operations Analyst will support the elements of the transaction lifecycle management or the reconciliation function across Futures & Options, FX and CFD. This includes clearing, settlement, option expiry, static data, exchange reporting, counterparty reconciliation of trades, positions, cash and inter-system reconciliation where applicable. An important focus is to operate efficiently, root cause analysis is adhered to and to ensure appropriate documentation is in place to support operational excellence and run an exception based model.
Role & Responsibilities
- Monitor the transaction clearing process and ensure any issues are addressed and root cause analysis is completed to prevent reoccurring issues.
- Complete the reconciliation processes for counterparties, regulatory reporting and inter-systems where applicable and ensure any issues are addressed and root cause analysis is completed to prevent reoccurring issues.
- Complete reconciliation reporting of breaks to management to adhere to governance.
- Complete the exchange (Large Trader/CFTC) and regulatory reporting (MiFID/EMIR) activities including resolution of regulatory and exchange reporting exceptions.
- Complete the trade settlement processes including expiration and option exercise and assignment processes.
- Management of static data processes.
- Maintenance and build of reconciliations within the Duco application.
- Complete allocated tasks that contribute towards automation to reduce manual processes.
- Communicating and collaborating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain good relationships.
- Adhere to operational controls.
Experience we are looking for
- Minimum 2+ yearsβ operations experience within a brokerage environment.
- Understanding of the transaction lifecycle management e.g. trade settlement, expiration process, option exercise & assignments.
- Understanding of the reconciliation process.
- Regulatory Reporting experience and exception management experience (MiFID/EMIR).
- Static data experience e.g. product static and client static and the impact this has on downstream regulatory and exchange reporting.
- Experience across exchange reporting such as Exchange (CME/ICE) Large Trader Reporting.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Quick learner with the ability to learn new processes and applications.
- Proactive; required to digest what is needed and make the role fit the needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Good analysis and problem-solving skills, escalating any issues accordingly.
- Investigative and inquisitive nature; willing to challenge accepted practice.
Nice to Have
- Experience of XTP, Spectrum and Duco or similar post trade and reconciliation applications.
- Experience working on projects (with good organisational skills).
