We are seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join our brokerage as an Apprentice Junior Metals Broker. This is a hands‑on apprenticeship, offering direct exposure to the world of commodities trading with a strong emphasis on professional development. You will work closely with senior brokers, gaining practical, real‑world experience while developing a deep understanding of metals markets and client trading activity. Alongside the day‑to‑day responsibilities, you will complete the Investment Operations Specialist Apprenticeship, which includes the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) qualification track. This structured training will provide a strong foundation in financial markets, investment operations, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior brokers with day‑to‑day client management, trade execution, and market analysis.
  • Assist with booking trades, confirming details, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
  • Monitor market prices, news, and trends to provide insights and support client trading decisions.
  • Develop an understanding of physical and derivative metals trading, risk management, and settlement processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of client activity and update CRM systems.
  • Liaise with operations, settlements, and compliance teams to ensure smooth trade lifecycle management.
  • Shadow senior brokers to gain practical experience in client interactions, negotiation, and relationship building.

Training and Development

  • Enrollment in the Investment Operations Specialist Apprenticeship Programme.
  • Support towards achieving relevant CISI qualifications as part of your apprenticeship.
  • On‑the‑job training from experienced brokers, providing hands‑on learning opportunities.
