Role Overview
The IT Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and continuous improvement of the company’s IT infrastructure and services. Reporting to the Group Head of IT, the IT Manager will be responsible for overseeing the IT support, networking, security, and vendor management functions. Additionally, this role will involve deputising for the Group Head of IT in their absence, ensuring IT operations run smoothly at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Support Management:
- Lead the IT support team to ensure the timely resolution of technical issues and effective management of internal IT resources.
- Provide hands-on support for complex IT issues and escalate problems as necessary.
- Develop and implement best practices for troubleshooting, documentation, and end-user support.
Networking:
- Oversee the management and optimization of the company’s networking infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Ensure all network configurations, including routers, switches, and firewalls, are secure and meet the company’s requirements.
- Collaborate with other teams to improve connectivity and bandwidth efficiency across the organisation.
IT Security:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and practices to protect the company’s data, networks, and systems.
- Monitor the network for security breaches and respond to incidents or vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide training and awareness on IT security for staff.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring services and products are delivered as per contracts and in line with company needs.
- Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs) with vendors and service providers.
- Ensure that vendors provide high-quality, cost-effective, and timely support.
Deputy for Group Head of IT:
- Act as the deputy for the Group Head of IT in their absence, overseeing all aspects of IT operations and making key decisions.
- Ensure continuity of IT services and provide leadership during critical projects or incidents.
- Assist with strategic IT planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in an IT management or similar role, ideally within the financial or brokerage sector.
- Strong knowledge of IT support, networking, and security best practices.
- Experience of Azure
- Experience managing external IT vendors and contracts.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to IT security in the financial industry (e.g., FCA, GDPR).
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, and networking technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
