Do you want to work in a production environment that is being invested in and where the technology is moving forward? Do you want to work with modern, highly automated production machinery? Do you like being part of close‑knit, high performing teams? Do you want to be part of a business where people can really rely on each other, and where you have the opportunity to progress and grow? If any of this sounds good, then we could be a great fit for you.

Our production lines run Monday to Friday 24 hours a day and our engineering team is at the heart of making that possible. Whether that is through planned preventative maintenance or through reactive repair work, the work our technicians do is vital to the high performance levels that we are delivering. Each of our production shift teams has a technician working alongside them to keep that shift running smoothly, and this is one of those roles. On the shift you will be working with the production team, monitoring performance and assisting the operators where needed, as well as planned maintenance tasks.

We are regularly investing in upgrading and improving our machinery, and the engineering team is an integral part of that, working with contractors and colleagues from elsewhere in BRITA to ensure upgrades happen as efficiently as possible. We have a comprehensive shopfloor management system that gives us detailed and comprehensive data on how all of our machines are running and you’ll be working with that on a daily basis. Health & Safety is hugely important to us, and good housekeeping is upheld by providing a safe working environment, ensuring the work area is clean and tidy while participating, embracing and continuously developing in order to help the business improve in line with the BRITA values.

We operate 4 shifts, and our technicians rotate through these shifts on a weekly basis (40 hour working week). The shifts are Monday to Friday (Night shift runs Sunday night to Friday morning):

  • Early: 06.00 – 14.30
  • Late: 14.15 – 10.45
  • Night: 10.30 – 06.15
  • Day: 08:00 – 16:30

You will receive a shift allowance as part of your salary package.

To be successful in this role, you’ll be an experienced technician with at least 2 years working in an automated production environment and a familiarity with both mechanical and electrical systems. You’ll have experience of fault‑finding and preventative maintenance and be comfortable working with and understanding wiring diagrams. If you have worked with PLCs that would be great, but isn’t required. Being a time‑served apprentice or having an equivalent engineering qualification would be ideal. You will need to be motivated, reliable and methodical, comfortable in seeking out support when required and will be an inclusive team player. We believe wholeheartedly that we succeed as a team, so that team focus is hugely important to us, as is always thinking about ways we can do things better.

What’s in it for you?

  • Salary package of £39,600 to £43,200 per annum (£33,000 to £36,000 basic salary plus 20% shift allowance)
  • Year‑end bonus of approximately 6% of basic salary.
  • 23 days leave per annum and bank holidays (holiday increases with length of service)
  • Excellent pension scheme (4% employee/6% employer – employer contribution increases with service)
  • Free access to Employee Assistance programme & the opportunity to join our Private Health Cover
  • Free Branded workwear and safety shoes
  • Employee discount + monthly staff allocation for BRITA
  • Free on‑site parking
  • Free flu jabs & annual Eye Care Voucher
